Deep mahogany-black, soft and luscious. Hayany is harvested at the Rutab stage when the flesh is honey-sweet and almost melting. The most consumed fresh date in Egypt, with an annual harvest celebrated across the eastern Delta. Sold by the kilo in every market from El-Sharqia to Suez.
